You, or some of your naturalist friends may be interested by the book FLOWERS OF GREECE written by Tristan Lafranchis and George Sfikas.

This 2 volume field guide published in May 2009 is beautifully and generously illustrated with 3,500 colour photos.

Text and photo are on the same double-page and describe more than 78% of Greek plants (more are found on the DVD). Descriptions emphasize the distinctive features, the most important being in italic. Large general groups have been divided into smaller units in order to assist identification. Information on the habitats, the location in Greece and the flowering time are also given.

The DVD-rom offers the chance to present more than 13,000 photos, giving justice to the wonderful diversity of Greek flora and the large range of variation of many plants. Several slide-shows are presented to introduce the reader to several of the Greek " botanical paradises ".

alles leuk en aardig, maar we zijn hier geen reclame forum voor allerhande boeken. Daarnaast is het boek al langer uit en bekend bij veel mensen. Dus graag je emailwisselingen en/of reclame emails ergens anders posten! Wat komt straks? De hele catalogus van Wil Meijs?

Graag bovenstaand bericht verwijderen!

Ik ben het er mee eens dat we geen reclame forum zijn, maar toch vind ik dit soort info in het algemeen wel interessant en denk ik dat het op ons forum thuishoort. Overigens, dergelijke info staat al meer op ons forum.
Ik vind het winst om geïnformeerd te worden over allerlei boeken en literatuur die beschikbaar is (gekomen), al dan niet met een commerciële bedoeling.
Het forum is bovendien een geschikt medium om betreffende werken te becommentariëren, zodat je als lezer zelf de conclusie kunt trekken om een werk al dan niet aan te schaffen.

Nu we het toch over kopen e.d. hebben: het kan ook handig zijn om b.v. nieuws over fotografie, gps of wat ook te plaatsen - evt. met commerciële raakvlakken.
Of waarom geen ruimte om b.v. dubbele boeken te koop aan te bieden of te koop te vragen.

Mijn suggestie: om dergelijke commercie-gerelateerde zaken apart te houden stel ik voor om een nieuw forum topic toe te voegen.

Ik deel je mening, de info is nuttig, maar niet in vorm zoals het nu op het forum staat. De auteur(s) hebben duidelijk bedoelingen en sturen bekenden in hun email lijst berichten om hun boek aan de man te brengen. Straks krijgen we mensen die vakantiehuisjes gaan promoten. Ik zal een nieuw forumonderdeel aanmaken waar boeken tips geplaatst kunnen worden.

Dus @Jan, de opmerking was niet verkeerd bedoeld, maar ik hoop dat je ons ook begrijpt. Wij krijgen straks weer mailtjes van de KNNV.
