onbekende orchidee

[Rinus Hofs]

Uit de natlatenschap van Koos Landwehr, tekenaar en auteur van de europese orchideën 1 en 2, kwam ik een foto tegen van een onbekende orchidee. Heeft iemand een idee wat voor het soort dat is. Er zijn weinig aanknopingspunten omdat er niets is bijgeschreven.

Mogelijk Habenaria malacophylla uit Zuid-Afrika. Ik weet alleen niet of er nog meer gelijkende soorten van zijn.

according to Demiseew et al. 2004, Field guide to Ethiopian orchids, Habenaria malacophylla looks like this

This may be (according to the aforementioned reference) H. splendens however without any other photographs and measurements it is hard to tell.

Well, that photo doesn't look anything like the one I saw and on which basis I came to my identification. It turned out Google put the wrong name to the right photo and it should have said Habanaria mannii:

But this does show that there are quite some similarly looking Haberaria's. In fact, Habenaria intermedia also looks similar. So, indeed, without knowing where the photo was taken it will be almost impossible (at least for me) to id this plant.

you are right Janssen, recognision is problematic... however H. mannii has long lanceolate leafs (probable type: http://apps.kew.org/herbcat/getImage.do ... K000106490 ) so I do not think so...
